Academic Site Visits
From an academic perspective our classes to the UAE will typically include:
- Visit to local Universities & Guest Presentations from professors as well as social interaction with UAE students.
- A visit to the UAE Government Sport & Recreation Ministers office for a presentation on their role in sport development & funding as well as the benefits of sport to the community.
- A visit to the Emirates airlines office for a presentation on Sport Sponsorship and its value to both the airline and the sporting organizations whom they support.
- A comprehensive 2-3 day visit to the Dubai Sports City where students will participate in several meetings with staff, tour the facility and visit with staff from the Cricket, Soccer, Rugby, Hockey, Tennis, Swimming & Golf Academies. This visit will make up a large proportion of your aca
demic hours. - Visit literally the coolest place in Dubai for a site tour and presentation on Sports Tourism & Risk Management: At an amazing 22,500 square meters and covered with real snow all year round, Ski Dubai is the largest indoor snow park in the world and offers an amazing snow setting to enjoy skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing, or just playing in the snow. Ski Dubai has 5 runs that vary in difficulty, height and gradient, the longest run being 400 meters with a fall of over 60 meters. Skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels enjoy these various slopes and marvel at the enormity of this amazing facility.
- Visit to the Emirates Golf Foundation who manage & operate the Dubai Desert Classic PGA European Tour Event and a presentation on Special Event Management by staff.
- Visit to a local youth soccer club where you will get to watch some games and socialize with parents and players and you will also receive a presentation from a staff member on Youth Sport Development in the UAE.
- Visit a Camel Racing meet and participate in a presentation with event organizers. You’ll learn about the history of camel racing, where the sport is today and recent controversies with jockeys which has led to the current use of robot jockeys.
- Admission to two other professional sporting events, schedules not yet available but likely Cricket, Soccer or Rugby.
- PLUS A WHOLE LOT MORE! As we are developing this academic program we will be adding opportunities including, but not limited to: Falconry, Tennis, Motor Sports & Horse Racing
