Students

Information for Students

Is Sports Travel Academy able to assist students with foreign internships?

YES, but becuase of the great demand for this we are only able to assist students who participate in one of our study abroad programs.

Can graduating students or others not needing the academic credit still participate?

This depends on the lead professor teaching the class. In the past we have been able to include just a few students on each trip who are either graduting or simply do not need the credit hours. We approach this on a case by case basis. Contact us for details if you are interested in participating in a class but not taking the credit.

What is the duration of our study abroad progams?

Each class is slightly different. On average our study abroad classes are between 14-20 days.

Is there an opportunity for a school to travel with less than 15 students?

Yes. There are two avenues for this to be achieved. One, if faculty still wish to travel with the group and providing you have some flexibility with dates your groups of less than 15 students could tag along with another one of our groups. Contact us for details. If a faculty members tries to put a class together but only recruits a very small number of students, say 3-6, to avoid dissapoiting these students they could quite easily participate with another school and transfer credit back to their home institution.

Is the class curriculum/syllabus set?

Two answers:
a) If it is your class and your academic credit that students are earning, you will establish the curriculum and if requested we can provide assistance. We then set up a tour schedule and academic site visits to local universities and sporting organizations to compliment your curriculum and to help you achieve your academic goals.

Do we cater for individual students?

YES, many of the schools we work with welcome students from other insitutions to travel with them. Students need to get approval from their advisor and investigate their schools procedure for transfering the credit hours. Most of the time foreign study abroad classes are used as open electives.
