Meet Our Coaches

Carmen Javaux
Head Girls Coach

Born in Boise, Idaho, Carmen grew up playing basketball, softball, volleyball and running track. After graduating from Greenleaf Friends Academy, she went to The Masters College in Southern California, where she played basketball and softball. After graduating in 1988 with a BA in Education, she taught for a year in Palmdale, California at Bethel Christian Academy followed by a return to Idaho where she coached at several local schools and worked as a substitute teacher.

In 1994, Carmen joined the Army National Guard, which eventually landed her in Morrisville, NC where she became acquainted with Cary Christian School (CCS) and coaching the girls basketball team. This was just a brief encounter before being called up to serve our country with a deployment to Afghanistan. Upon returning in 2004 she returned to coaching at CCS and has now coached basketball there for the past 5 years. Her proudest achievements over the last 4 years include appearances in the State Tournament, each year doing better than the previous year to include playing in the State Championship game in 2009 with a final season record of 29-4.

As a part of her commitment to player development, Carmen and her team members also run basketball camps for rising 3rd-5th grade girls as well as for 6th-8th grade girls each summer. This has been a wonderful experience for Coach Javaux, her team and the young girls who come to play and learn. It has been especially rewarding to see her campers move on to play basketball on their High School and Middle School teams.

“I am very excited to take a group of girls who love to play basketball, who desire to improve their skills playing the game as well as get this incredible global experience in Australia. This is just an amazing opportunity to see this beautiful part of the world, coach basketball, and use the skills the Lord has given me in this arena.
