Tourism Highlights:

  • Visit Santo Domingo, Boca Chica and other areas on day trips 
  • Service Learning and Community Outreach Projects can be incorporated in all programs. We have previously arranged for students to volunteer in townships, orphanages and underprivileged schools. We also have a program where students can collect 2nd hand sporting equipment to donate to the orphan children that they will meet
  • Guided Historical Walking Tour of Santo Domingo. With plenty of stops this relaxed walking tour will help orientate you to the city whilst simultaneously learning about the history and culture of Santo Domingo. The Colonial Zone is rich in Dominican history and culture with some of the oldest streets and buildings in the Western Hemisphere including the Plaza de Espana, Calles Las Damas, and the First Cathedral of the New World.
  • Santo Domingo Full Day Educational Tour: Visit the Three Eyes National Park with underground caves and lagoons used by the Taino Indiana. Then explore the grounds where Christopher Columbus first landed in the New World including the Columbus Lighthouse & Columbus Palace. Students will explore the modern areas of the capital city and the National Palace where the Dominican President and the highest level of government officials have their offices. Lunch is included at a local restaurant known for its homestyle cooking and dancing by staff.
  • Full Day White Water Rafting: Enjoy the cool waters of the Yaque del Norte River, the longest in the Caribbean. With breathtaking canyon scenery and the thrill of riding the rapids, you will have a great time discovering the beauties and fun of nature! 
  • Visit a working Coffee Plantation for a Farm Tour and opportunity to learn how coffee is farmed, harvested and sold 
  • Sports Travel Academy Program Director will travel with your group supporting Faculty. Our staff assist with program logistics and provide suitable options for the group as required. Our staff's local knowledge and contacts considerably enhance the quality of the student’s experience abroad.
