We wholeheartedly welcome Dr. Rosalie Schimmel van Helden to our team at Sports Travel Academy! Rosalie has taken a break from teaching and we are fortunate to have her working with us on European Programming. Whilst working at The Hague University, Rosalie and her students have hosted many Sports Travel Academy groups over the years and we are excited to welcome her to our team.
Rosalie is a seasoned professional with a robust background in the European Sports Industry, boasting degrees in Teaching Education in Physical Education (BEd.) and Pedagogical Sciences (MSc). With nearly two decades of teaching experience, she has served as a lecturer at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS) in The Netherlands, where she has played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of sports professionals. In 2017, she created the successful bachelor degree program of International Sport Management, leading a team of international colleagues to develop and deliver a truly internationally oriented sport management program and attracting international students and staff from over 30 different countries.
Notably, Rosalie is renowned for her extensive network and close connections with former students who have ascended to prominent roles within various sporting clubs and businesses across Europe. This network not only highlights her profound impact on her students, but also underscores her deep-rooted influence within the industry and her amazing connections throughout Europe.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Rosalie is deeply involved in the sporting community, actively participating in Tennis and Padel, while also volunteering at a local Volleyball club as a committee member and coach of her daughter's team.
